"Kirche in Etembeni. 1896." ("Church in Etembeni. 1896."). The picture shows a group of approximately 50 men, women and children of mainly African origin. There is only one European man in the middle right of the group, probably the missionary. There are only eight men of African origin, six sitting in the front row, two standing on the right. The women, most of them with infants, stand on the left side or sit in the front row. The girls and two boys stand on the right, a couple of other boys sit in the front row. The women wear cloths wrapped around their heads and are covered with scarfs or blankets. Imprinted on the image: "Kirche in Etembeni. 1896. Süd Afrika W. No. 645." ("Church in Etembeni. 1896. South Africa W[est]. No. 645.").
