Clipping from Pomona College Newsletter, November 1952, regarding fire in the park. Text reads: "Blanchard Park has long been part of the Pomona College school and extra curricular activities. Though the spark of romance in the Park is not what it is reported to have been prior to general use of the automobile, a very much more tangible flame burned there this summer. A series of three fires broke out in the eastern and northeastern portion and though it consumed more than one half of the Park did not reach the Greek Theater, which had already been denuded of wooden seats and walls. A personal reconnaissance of the Park showed it to be altered almost beyond recognition by the changes from the fire and the bulldozers which cleared all remaining brush and debris.
