Description
Photograph caption dated July 22, 1942 reads, " A flaring youthful 'gang war' brought William Culveaux, 19, to court for a preliminary hearing today on the charge of murdering Miguel Barron in an asserted feud over the two girls shown." Pictured are Rose Padilla and Cecilia Apparicio. Charges against William Culveaux were dimissed by Judge Byron J. Walters who stated in court, "While it is true tha we are faced in Los Angeles with juvenile gangster terrorism, it is equally true under evidence submitted to this court that this defendant acted in self defense."
