Editorial articles published and collected by War Relocation Authority during the time when incarcerees were being released from camps and resettling or going back home. By May 1945, 24 incidents of "violence or open intimidation" towards Japanese Americans were recorded by the WRA. All articles describe violence, terrorism, and "hoodlumism" inflicted upon the Japanese American community and urge Americans to cease racism, discrimination, and violence brought on by rumors. Some articles compare acts of violence and intimidation to Nazis in Europe. The War Relocation Authority (WRA), together with the Wartime Civil Control Administration (WCCA), the Civil Affairs Division (CAD) and the Office of the Commanding General (OFG) of the Western Defense Command (WDC) operated together to segregate and house some 110,000 men women and children from 1942 to 1945. The collection contains documents and photographs relating to the establishment and administrative workings of the (WDC), the (WRA) and the (WCCA) for the year 1942.
