Description
V1p436b In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. I, page 436 bottom. This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Text written under photo: "La Grand [sic] Laundry Branch Office Market St. near Kearny St. where the De Young building now stands. Eacleson kept a gents furnishing store on corner. Note the 'Shaving 10 cents.' It's different now. This picture was taken 1881." Photo shows six men posed in front of the "Office of E.P. White, successor to La Grande and White's Laundry at 648 Market Street." These men are identified by Dobbin in further text. Text written to left of photo: "Reading from Left to Right: James Baldwin, Tony Moitoret, E.P. White proprietor, W.B. Dooling, Wm. Corbett, Thomas Corbett. Dooling alive & still is connected with La Grand [sic] Laundry 12th Street Nov. 12th 1926."
