Description
Photograph of Rockwood gate, intake for the Imperial Valley irrigation system, [s.d.]. A tall concrete structure held up by a series of triangular bases stands at right, and a row of people stand atop it. A body of still water lies below the structure, and a small rowboat sits on the right corner of the foreground, behind a rocky area. Another cliffside can be seen across the concrete structure, at the far left. Photoprint reads: "Rockwood Gate, intake for the Imperial Valley Irrigation system, situated about a mile north of the Mexican border on the Colorado River. This great concrete structure is intended eventually to serve a million acres on both sides of the international boundary."
