Description
Photo featured in the Weekly Mayfair newspaper on February 11, 1954, with the following caption: "For Auld Lang Syne - If you are an old, OLDtimer, maybe you'll remember the costumes of the 'Gay Nineties' so fetchingly modeled in the aobve picture by, left to right: Mrs. Antone Baum, Mrs. Jack Thompson and Evergreen's State Senator Jack Thompson himself, in the flesh. The trio posed the above picture to give readers of Weekly Mayfair an idea of just how nice the big forthcoming 'Gay Nineties' Dance is going to be. The dance is scheduled for Saturday night, Feb. 20 at Horsemen's Clubhouse (why don't they call it Horsemen's Hall?), on Story Rd. Mr. and Mrs. Baum are chairmen, assisted by Mrs. George Boeger and Al Jones. Door prizes will be offered for best-dressed couple, best-dressed lady, most comical costume and there will be a prize for winner of a waltz contest. The Horsemen want a big attendance and most likely they will hav eit. Dancing 9 to 1. Music by Maxine Joyce's All-Girl Orchestra. Donations are $1.50 per person." Although the image was featured in a 1954 article, the print is actually date-stamped February 23, 1952.
