Enormous spills during the early years of the project emphasized the need of the concrete training walls and channel protection as shown. Resevoir storage capacity, during the termination of the runnoff period of tributary streams is increased several thousand acre-feet by the installation of stop logs (18" high) on the crest of the spillway. hm
