Description
Everybody in the picture seems to be dressed up. The garden may be at Antsahamanitra Girls' School. The wall in the background is very typical and made of dark red soil. Aagot Kjeldseth was a missionary in Madagascar from 1896-1907. She was a teacher at Antsahamanitra Girls' School from 1896-1898. In 1898 she married Thomas Joergensen 1874-1957. Antsahamanitra Girls' School was established in 1872 by Johanna Borchgrevink 1836-1924 and led by her until 1912. Hundreds of Malagasy girls were taken care of and given education during this long period.
