Redwood Region. Spike-topped redwood tree in center of picture. West edge of Redwood Highway north of Williams Grove and opposite Walden place. Opposite P.T. & T. [Pacific Telephone & Telegraph] Pole #238. A tree about 7 ft. diameter at breast height. Fairly normal butt. 240 ft. high to top of spike. Filling around butt by road making apparently of no importance. Small photo taken to record the full bole, and spike top. Photo from south side. Tree to left appears to be dying. 7-14-32, E.F
