Description
Image of an advertisement by the Brattleboro Roller Skating Rink for Samuel Winslow's Vineyard roller skates. Print includes people of all ages shown roller skating inside a two-story venue. People are dressed in fashionable attire with hats, gloves, and bonnets while skating on the rink. The second story balcony includes people shown seated, conversing, and listening to the live band performing near them.
Probable date based on lithographer information found in Jay T. Last's Color Explosion, and additional information about the patent date of Samuel Winslow's Vineyard roller skate. “Brett Litho Co. 116 Fulton St. NY.” --text, right corner below margin. “Th. Nast.” --text, artist signature in pencil, left corner of print. “We use only Saml. Winslow’s ‘Patent Vineyard’ Roller Skates.” --text, bottom of print. “Brattleboro Roller Skating Rink, Elliot Street.” --text, title above print.
