Description
A mounted photograph, Chinese men walking down Ferguson Alley, Chinatown, Los Angeles, circa 1890. Several men in traditional dress are walking along the paved sidewalk underneath a rounded wooden awning extending from the second story of a brick building to their right. The bottom of a sign with a Chinese character is visible at the top right. To the left is the dirt street. In the background is a large factory building belonging to Kerkhoff. The location is identified in a pencil inscription on the reverse. The photograph is in fair condition, moderate abrasion to the edges and surface soiling.
