Description: This is the mercy convoy in which Mrs. Nelson travels to Rancho Los Amigos Hospital. An ambulance follows the truck. If the electric generator in the truck should fail, the patient would be shifted to an ambulance and a resuscitator substituted for the iron lung. General Hospital's polio ward is in the background. Photo date: March 14, 1949.
