Photograph caption dated July 3, 1962 reads "He does the twist, twists his knee - Valley College student Mack McConkey grimaces with an ice pack on his knee after he maneuvered 'the new leg lift' while doing the twist. Only thing that twisted was his knee. 'From now on,' said McConkey, 'I'll do an old-fashioned dance like the stroll.' His doctor said it will be some time before Mack does anything - he'll be on crutches for six weeks. The twist happened Saturday."
