Photograph caption dated May 18, 1963 reads, "Fourteen daughters of prominent Valley families were among Assisteens recognized for their teen-age years of service at the annual Black and White Ball, staged each year for the benefit of the Assistance League's vast program of philanthropies. Z. Wayne Griffin, master of ceremonies, and Mrs. Wilfred G. Lane, president of the Assistance League of Southern California, gave a gold medallion and a five-year membership in the organization. Valley Debs, attired in pastel tinted ballgowns, are, seated from left, Carol Lyn Deasy, Christine Fowler Dooling, Peggy Gunther, Eleanor Jan McAdam, Myra Doris Moe, Nancy Heiman, Julia O'Connor and Christine Burrill.
