Lipman-Blumen talks about the roles of leaders in times of crisis and the feelings they stir. She says that it takes courage to stop toxic leaders and that creating a coalition of concern with people from within the organization, constituents outside of the organization, and the board of directors is helpful. Lipman-Blumen explains the signs of non-toxic leaders becoming toxic leaders, and says that people on the lower rungs often do not have the resources to fight back. She goes on to talk about William Sullivan, J. Edgar Hoover, Kevin White, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and Kenneth Chenault.
