This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "Hotel Cairns 36 Ave & Fulton 1905." Photo shows the three-story brick Hotel Cairns at the northwest corner of 36th and Fulton in the then sparsely settled Richmond District. The photo was taken from Golden Gate Park. Rail and overhead can be seen on Fulton. [Date was probably 1909.]
