Description
The West Coast's first mobile oil drilling platform is shown as it was towed to position a mile and a half offshore near Huntington Beach. The $2,000,000 platform, measuring 200 by 100 feet with 195-foot caissons, was built by Offshore Constructors, Inc., for Monterey Oil Co. exploration of offshore leases. Photo dated: November 27, 1956.
