Description
On June 29, 1963, the Port of Sacramento celebrated its completion with three days of activities. Over 75,000 people attended, taking in the parades and touring navy vessels and the California Maritime Academy’s Golden Bear cadet training ship. Another highlight was a trip through the locks between the Sacramento River and the ship turning basin.
