Photograph caption dated July 24, 1958 reads, "Capt. Wilma F. Bolling, of Women's Army Corps, and Sgt. Mary Johnson make final plans for 'Operation Saludes' next week in San Fernando. Information booth will be set up in heart of city to explain to citizens role of women soldiers in nation's defense structure. Captain Bolling is recruiting officer for entire Southland. Sgt [sic] Johnson handles Valley."
