Photograph caption dated December 17, 1983 reads, "Helicopter sits atop roof of Van Nuys commercial building yesterday after making a crash-landing. The two people onboard were not injured. Dick Hallen, Federal Aviation Administration duty officer, said the pilot reported to the Van Nuys Airport tower that he was having engine trouble and then landed on the roof after using an emergency flying procedure called 'an auto rotation landing.'" The accident occurred at 7800 Woodley in Van Nuys.
