Description
Title supplied by cataloger.
The trough, built around 1914, was originally located along the Los Angeles River in the Platt Ranch area and was moved to Olvera Street in 1917 at the request of Christine Sterling. The trough was called La Canoa, which became anglicized as Canoga. In the 1960s, San Fernando Valley community leaders, including Mrs. Mary Orcutt, requested that the trough be returned to Canoga Park.
