A pendulous variety of Sequoia gigantea, first planted at base of Campanile in about 1918, then in 1928 moved to northwest of California Hall. Supported by steel pipe. Trees have now overtopped their supporting pipe and are dropping. Tree looks narrowly columnar but the branches are actually 4-6' long, hanging down limply. See also 5895. Sept. 1935. E.F
