A sign to the left of the arch reads, "Hollywoodland". A sidewalk lined with bushes on the right leads from the center foreground underneath the arch towards the background. A utility pole is visible to the right of the tower, while homes can be seen in the background. A car is parked on the street at left beyond the tower.
