Description
Many of the fruit, vegetable and other product labels from Santa Clara Valley were created at the Muirson Label and Carton Company, which operated from 1916 to 1966. All orders for new work, sketches, and engravings went through the "Assembling Department" run by Mr. Ballantyne and Ralph Rambo. Each label was an original work of art, hand drawn, inked and painted, and turned into color separations for printing. Ralph had a keen interest in history and illustrated several books about the history of the Santa Clara Valley. Photo taken from page 51 of scrapbook created by Ralph Rambo documenting work at Muirson Label Company.
