Photograph of lava creeping over a curved road after the eruption of Maui Loa, showing a small group of people standing nearby, Hawaii, April 1926. In the extreme foreground at left, a small road can be seen curving into the background at right. Brush and abundant vegetation can be seen growing on both sides of the road. In the background at left, a stream of lava can be seen flowing down a small hill onto the road. Black smoke is visible above the surface of the lava. To the far right, a group of three people stand on the road nearby and watch. Description at the bottom of the image reads: "The huge wave of A-A lava crept across the government road at 12:10PM April 17, 1926. Honomalino, Kona-Hawaii. Note: Dr Jagger taken moves of flow".
