Description
"This is to certify that John C. Fremont arrived at Sutter's Fort California, March 6th 1844 overland from Kansas City, Mo via the Columbia River after a perilous journey of 282 days from point to point" -- printed and handwritten. Images include: San Francisco 1849; Rounding Cape Horn; Revere House, Society's headquarters; Crossing the Isthmus; and, Finding the first gold, 1848.
