Description
Photograph of Rear Admiral Robley Evans' torpedo flotilla entering San Pedro Harbor, ca.1908. Four large destroyers are moving in a column from the distance at right to the foreground at left. They are all steamships with several smokestacks and large masts with flags. Several smaller boats are lined up on either side of the formation of military vessels. A long breakwater and Dead Man's Island are visible in the background. The Torpedo Flotilla was composed of several destroyers and accompanied the Great White Fleet from Hampton Roads to San Francisco.
