Description
Photograph of an aerial view of Van Nuys, ca.1945. The city can be seen at center and is composed of hundreds of small buildings gathered around a grid of large streets. In the foreground and at right, several large, open fields are visible. The broad plain on which the city is built extends far into the distance, where it stops at the foot of a mountain range that runs across the entire image. At left, a tall, light-colored building is visible.
