Photograph of several nurses sitting on the ground at a Manzanar hospital staff picnic. Several additional people can be seen behind them. In the background are a line of tables with pots and trays stacked on them. The collection was donated by Ralph "Pete" Merritt, Jr. and Patricia Merritt. It is comprised of photographs from an album created by L. Josephine Hawes, the Chief Nurse at the Manzanar Hospital, and individual photographs collected by Ralph P. Merritt, the Project Director of the Manzanar War Relocation Center.
