Description
LADIES IN WAITING - Six of these comely young women are being groomed for competition in the1966 Miss Metropolitan Sacramento contest, a prelude to the Miss California and Miss Universe pageants later in the year. Seated at the left is the 1965 Miss Metropolitan Sacramento, Cappie Gshwandtner. Seated at far right is Miss Jeanne Venables the 1965 Miss California winner in the Miss Universe contest and an instructor for Carmel of California, director of the local competition. Contestants in the back row are from left, Kathleen Merrill, Shari Kling, Valerie Walton, and Pat Jennings. Seated are contestants Par Derby, left, and Billy Massey. The Sacramento finals will be April 18.
