Scope/Content: Transcribed from back: Pioneer Descendent -- Mrs. Victoria Shorey Francis of Oakland, is a direct descendent of William Shorey, whale boat captain during the late 1890's. Captain Shorey operated in the waters just outside San Francisco Bay, and was the most outstanding skipper of that area.
