Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph dated January 20, 1965 shows Mrs. Herbert Saxton, president of the Canoga Park Junior Women's Club, at the club's annual Foreign Foods Festival Luncheon. Proceeds from the event went towards Project Hope. A replica of the S.S. Hope is seen in the foreground decorating the table. The article partially reads, "Project Hope began in 1958 when President Dwight D. Eisenhower asked prominent heart specialist Dr. William B. Walsh to initiate a project aimed at international good will and understanding through personal contacts. Dr. Walsh then submitted the plan for the world's first peacetime hospital ship, a reconverted 15,000-ton veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict.
