Photographic portrait of cowboys eating around the chuck wagon, 1898. The chuck wagon stands draped in a tarp at left while a cowboy stands to the right, behind the shelf protruding from the wagon's rear that supports a basin. Three more cowboys sit on the ground next to him, drinking what appears to be coffee. Five more are still further right, one of them mounted on his horse, one seated, the others standing. Sacks covered by tarps lie on the ground in the foreground. Trees are visible in the background.
