Photograph of an exterior view of the State Hospital complex in Highland, ca.1900. In the foreground, a wide lot of grass is visible, while at left, a dirt path leads to the large complex of buildings that constitute the State Hospital. Approximately seven buildings are visible, each about four stories tall and fashioned in the Victorian style. Many of the buildings appear identical. Mountains are visible in the background, while a stand of trees obscures the buildings at right.
