Description
Photograph showing the progress of the construction of the power plant in Storrie. Shows the construction site ready to lay pin stalk to power house turbine. Donor/Source: Ron Hanford (owned by Glenn Way) GMW 135 06 17. 1927-July- Ready to lay Pin stalk too Power House Turbine- Audio Tape #16B-468. This photograph was taken about a month after GMW 134, showing progress on the anchors and piers. Most of the work on the powerhouse itself was happening inside: the conduit was being laid in place and the cement deck poured over it. GMW was involved with putting wire tags on all the conduit so it was readily identified after it had been put into place. J. Brown was the electrical foreman, and was a difficult man to work for. "He rode kind of a rough saddle on the men," and many of them would head back to Sacramento rather than put up with it. "He got kinda sarcastic with me a couple of times, but I just listened. That's the best way (to handle it)."
