Shades of L.A. is an archive of photographs representing the contemporary and historic diversity of families in Los Angeles. Images were chosen from family albums and include daily life, social organizations, work, personal and holiday celebrations, and migration and immigration activities. Title supplied by cataloger.; Image is a reproduction. A portrait of a married couple, Dan and Edith. They met and married in 1925. Dan immigrated to the United States from Israel in 1924, and Edith from Lubov, Russia in 1920 at age 16. They both lived in Highland Park as young adults and moved to West Adams after their marriage.
