Original print has stain in the middle.
Photograph caption dated September 8, 1961 reads, "Observing the start of another bowling season, Joseph Quinn, right, executive assistant to Los Angeles Mayor Samuel Yorty, accepts a new ball from Ray Rosenbaum, Valley Times TODAY bowling editor and secretary of the Southern California Bowling Writers. Quinn, filling in for the Mayor who was on vaction, had just delivered a proclamation to Pete Spilos, left, president of the Bowling Proprietors Assn., declaring Sept. 4 through 10 as 'Bowling Week'."
