Billy Wilder, motion picture film director, in 1946. He directed Paramount's "The Lost Weekend." Austrian-born, he started writing as a newspaperman in Berlin, then later became one of the top script writers for UFA, the famous German movie company, but was forced to flee when Hitler came to power.
