Probable date and artist supplied by cataloger based on similar artist's initials found in image referenced in Spangenberg, Amazing American Circus Poster, page 238 and general circus history; P.T. Barnum's Greatest Show on Earth and Howes' Great London Circus and Sanger's Royal British Menagerie (nicknamed the Barnum & London Circus) held shows from 1881 until 1887.
