Description
Group of about twenty men standing in a row, all members of the California Territorial Pioneers, an organization of men who arrived in California before 1846. Julius A. Pope, standing mid-right and wearing a sash, was the president. The two tallest men in the center are brothers Nicholas and Solomon Carriger. The group is standing in front of the former Sonoma Barracks, which was then being remodeled into a winery.
