Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated January 16, 1962 reads "Little Tujunga, Kagel Canyon seeding - Helicopters began Monday to reseed the 1,615 acres burned out during November, 1961, fires in Little Tujunga and Kagel Canyons above Hansen Dam. U.S. Forestry Service officials say the grass, a mixture of rye and blando broam [sic], is expected to sprout in 10 days or two weeks. It will help safeguard the area against soil erosion."
