Martin D. Davidson, president of Southern Pipe & Supply Company, Inc., writes Peter Drucker stating his belief that Drucker is the best authority on the management of a business. He explains that this was confirmed after meeting with James Varderman, of Jackson, whom he contacted after seeing Varderman's letter to the editor in Business Week. Davidson writes that he has read Drucker's books again and again, and that his family business is at a crossroads. He asks Drucker for some guidance, and says that Drucker is the only man who can give it to him at this stage of his business. James Varderman probably refers to James M. Vardaman.
