Photograph snipe dated June 1, 1973 reads, "Wreath placed before stone marker bearing names of 271 Los Angeles County peace officers slain in the line of duty. Rabbi Jacob Pressman is to left of wreath and Sheriff Peter Pitchess and Cardinal Timothy Manning to right. Nearly 500 persons and law enforcement officers today paid homage to slain officers." The event was held at the Sheriff's Academy in Monterey Park.
