Photograph caption dated September 26, 1962 reads, "Here are eight students enrolled in the most advanced test-pilot school in the world. From left are Capt. Crews, Lt. Cmdr. Birdwell (USN), Maj. Bock, Capt. Twinting, Maj. Sorlie, Capt. Smith, Maj. McIntosh and Maj. Knolle. The students are members of the second class of the Aerospace Research Pilot Course at Edwards Air Force Base. They will be honored Thursday at a luncheon in Lancaster."
