Photograph of the Colorado River from the foot of Bright Angel Trail, Grand Canyon, looking east, 1900-1930. The river moves placidly by a sandy shore opposite the few small rocks in the foreground. Rocky embankments form a "V" through which the river moves at center. The rim of the canyon and a drammatic towering rock formation are visible in the distance through the "V".
