Photograph was edited for publication purposes San Fernando Valley State College later became California State University, Northridge. Photograph article dated March 2, 1964 partially reads, "When you're hiking 50 miles, you feel every stone in the road, you wave to people driving by and you talk to cows in the pasture. And sometimes you think the cows talk back. This is how Tom Wyneken, 19-year-old Valley State College student, felt when he spent Friday night and Saturday hiking 50 miles from Ventura to Northridge."
