Photograph article dated April 10, 1961 reads, "The San Fernando Valley Volunteer League's sixth annual Arts and Artists series opened with 'An Hour With Charles LeMaire [sic],' famed Hollywood set and costume designer, now designing original fashions which he premiered for over 500 League members and their guests. Cocktails and luncheon preceded the elegant showing at Sportsmen's Lodge. The Volunteer League's many services to the Valley include support to McKinley Home For Boys, Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Valley Youth Foundation and the Christmas Donor Service. In addition, thousands of hours of volunteer personal service are given annually to over 48 institutions, hospitals and medical fund raising campaigns."
