Description
Photograph of untitled piece in "Profiled" series. Piece includes "Blackfoot Man" and Jacques-Francois-Joseph Saly's "Faun Holding a Goat." In this collection, Gonzales-Day looks to the depiction of race and the construction of whiteness as points of departure from which to consider the impact of Enlightenment ideas about freedom, class, gender, and even the location of the soul, in depictions of the human form, and the portrait bust in particular.
