Description
Photograph of the Sackett Hotel and Store on Cahuenga Drive and Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California, 1890. A horse and carriage are parked on the unpaved road outside of the odd, Victorian building, comprised of a many-windowed shopfront on the bottom story and a Victorian balcony with gingerbread and clapboard veneer on top. Signs on the shop windows below read "Hollywood", "S [h] oe Store", "Shoes Hats [...]", "Cigars and Tobacco", "Coffee", and "Ice Cream Soda". An illegible placard is posted to the tree in the foreground. A woman stand on the porch of the storefront to the right, where what appears to be the bottom of a telephone pole is visible.
